Another 4 people have been shot dead in Mitchells Plain during a weekend of terror in the Cape Town suburb. The 4 were killed at close range in a drive-by shooting in Maureen Street, in Lost City. Police have issued an urgent appeal for information to help apprehend the shooters. On Friday in the area, 2 teenage boys and 3 others were wounded in a shooting.

In yestersday’s daily Covid-19 update, the health department said there had been 1 447 new infections. There has been another 157 fatalities, with the death toll on 49 941. The recovery rate remains at 94%.

A trail runner, who slipped and fell on Table Mountain, has been found dead. The 48-year old man had plunged at least 60 metres after slipping off the path, close to Kloof Ridge. Wilderness Search and Rescue Western Cape said an emergency helicopter assisted in the search for the runner.
