During the school holidays a lot of parents face the challenge of keeping the children entertained. For Monique Kemp it’s a completely different story as her 12 year old son Daniel just underwent his 6th major heart operation. Her family have shown perseverance throughout Daniel’s life and Monique has become a beacon of hope for parents of children with Congenital Heart Disease. The Ryan O’Connor Breakfast show gave her a call:

Daniel is one of many children who were born with Congenital Heart Disease. He has had a very long and trying start from birth to the age of 2 with surgery, Hirschsprung’s Disease, Pancreatic Divisum, learning how to drink a bottle through speech therapy and having neuro physiotherapy to help his body and brain function together. He has fought through it all and is now entering into teenage years with a major open-heart surgery.
