After a few fraught years for the Solms-Delta wine estate, including a government deal that turned sour, and the threat of this ambitious social enterprise going down the drain, an American investor has come to the rescue, with a vision to revive the dream.

Since the launch on 24 November 2023 of the Solms-Delta Wine Company, there have been exciting plans announced to continue the ambitious journey of land restitution and community upliftment that was begun by Mark Solms in 2001.

Part of the legacy of Solms-Delta is it’s much loved Oesfees (Harvest Festival), which has finally made a come back in 2024, after a hiatus of 5 years!

Some big names such as Spoegwolf, Anton Goosen, Loukmaan Adams, Oom Hannes Coetzee and Schalk Joubert will be taking to the stage at the historic Solms-Delta Wine Estate on 6 April 2024, in addition to much-loved locals with their Boland harmonies.

The day is about more than music – it’s also about celebrating the end of the harvest and thanking those who have worked so hard to pick and process the grapes.

Spoegwolf’s lead singer, Danie Reënwolf du Toit has sung the praises of the venue for the Oesfees:

“We’ve performed at beautiful places but Solms-Delta takes it up a notch. Not only do we get to play our tunes amidst a breath-taking backdrop of vineyards and mountains but are we part of a celebration of teamwork and community!”

Good food and wine will be for sale and kids under 12, accompanied by their parents, get to enjoy the day for free.

Bring a picnic blanket and come sit under the oak trees to witness the revival of the Solms-Delta Oesfees as we give thanks to farm workers for their hard work.

Gates open at 10h00.

Tickets cost R200 and are available at Plankton.mobi
