South Africans who have paid admission-of-guilt fines, for non-serious offences, may soon have these transgressions scrapped from their records. The Department of Justice and Correctional Services says amendments to the Criminal Procedure Bill, will see that some criminal records may soon be expunged, for those who committed trivial offences. A spokesperson at the Department says the proposed amendment law will be published for comment next month.
