Published on

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma says movement of people in hotspot areas will be limited under lockdown level 3.

Briefing the nation on the regulations that will come into effect on 1 June, Dlamini-Zuma said movement of people from one province to the other will be limited unless individuals are attending a funeral, conducting essential services, or for work purposes.

Dlamini Zuma also announced alcohol will go on legal sale again in South Africa on Monday. There will be strict rules, with sale only allowed between Monday to Thursday, between 9am and 5pm.

Retailers will also again be able to sell hot food, including rotisserie chickens and pies, in-store in Level 3, from Monday.

Personal care services such as hairdressers, beauty services and tattoo parlours will remain closed.
