NEW CAMPAIGN TO CELEBRATE CITIZEN ENTREPRENEURS, GROW THE ECONOMY

Published on

Yesterday, the Mayor Dan Plato and James Vos, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Opportunities and Asset Management, launched the CPT+U Citizens Campaign, to celebrate the contribution of ordinary Capetonians to the local economy.

Plato says Cape Town is open for business and there has never been a better time to invest in our beautiful city.

“This exciting campaign aims to encourage ordinary Cape Town residents to share their success stories and to show how they are investing in the city through their actions, both big and small. Every Capetonian is an ambassador for this beautiful city, and we want to hear your success stories about how you live, play, study and invest in this amazing city. We would like to encourage all citizens whether they are entrepreneurs, business owners or investors to be part of the future of Cape Town and to join in the CPT+U Citizens Campaign.”

Through the City’s Department of Enterprise and Investment, the City works hard to attract and retain local and foreign investment to stimulate economic growth that will lead to job creation.

Over the next few months, this campaign will highlight how Capetonians are making this city a success by sharing their inspiring stories. The aim is to ignite a sense of pride in Capetonians and to inspire people to spontaneously start talking about Cape Town as an investment destination.

Vos says what sets the City apart is the commitment to create an enabling environment for business to invest and grow.

“The Invest Cape Town platform, run by the Department of Enterprise and Investment, allows investors, businesses and entrepreneurs to directly engage with the City of Cape Town’s investment facilitation team. Invest Cape Town works with international and local entrepreneurs, Small, Medium and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) as well as multinationals who wish to set up a business in Cape Town. The collaboration with partners from business formations, investment promotion agencies, sector support entities and all levels of government helps encourage economic growth and investment.”

Residents have been encouraged to upload positive success stories at www.investcapetown.com.

A CPT+U digital ‘pack’ will be available for download, including a social media banner and generic social media post artwork, which can be used across social media platforms.
