If you’re a tech entrepreneur, then you need to pay attention to a gathering that offers great opportunities … but I’m also going to give you a website address in the next two minutes.
Claiming to be the largest tech ecosystem accelerator on the continent … the third annual AfricArena is about to kick off their world tour, with an announcement that they plan to include several new cities.
Their whole premise is to support African start-ups through introductions to investors, and this year it will include Nairobi, Kigali, Abidjan, Casablanca, Lagos, Tunis, Dakar, Cairo and Johannesburg … in addition to New York and Paris.
Partly sponsored by Wesgro and the City of Cape Town… this year’s key themes are AI/Machine Learning , 4th AI & Tech for Good, SmartCity, Agritech, Financial & Commerce inclusion, Healthcare, Privacy & Ethics and Traveltech.

There is an existing incubator and accelerator dedicated to South African and French entrepreneurs, named French South African Tech Labs.
AfricArena offers the ideal deal-making platform where corporates, angels, VCs and CVCs, incubators/accelerators and entrepreneurs can join forces for the good of innovation and the growth of the African tech ecosystem.
Proof of that is in the fact that last year, AfricArena predicted that the total investment in the African tech ecosystem would crack the $1-billion mark.
They did just that by the end of last year and they are gunning for the $2-billion mark this year.
