Three cases of murder being probed: Triple Murder

Anti-Gang Unit detectives have meanwhile initiated an investigation. They are probing three counts of murder. At this stage, officers believe that the motive for the attack could be gang-related.

“The South African Police Service in the Western Cape strongly condemns the senseless act of violence that claimed the lives of three men in Delft during the early hours of Sunday morning.”

Condemnation

Traut says the Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape, Lieutenant General (Advocate) Thembisile Patekile has denounced the incident in the strongest possible terms. At the same time, he has reaffirmed SAPS’s unwavering commitment to dismantling gang structures and to root out organized crime that continues to terrorize communities.

Lieutenant General Patekile said, ““We will not tolerate ruthless criminals who use intimidation and violence to assert control over communities.”

He says police deployments have been bolstered in the Delft policing precinct as part of ongoing efforts to stabilize the area and curb gang-related violence.
