Four people, including a 13-year-old boy, were wounded in a suspected gang-related shooting in Wallacedene, Kraaifontein, on Thursday evening.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said officers registered four cases of attempted murder after the victims were brought to a local hospital around 18:30.
According to reports, SAPS members were alerted by hospital staff after the group arrived in private vehicles for emergency treatment.
The victims include:
- A 13-year-old boy, who was grazed by a bullet on the left side of his chest,
- A 19-year-old man who was shot in his left leg and foot,
- A 21-year-old woman, wounded in her right wrist, and
- A 22-year-old woman, shot in her left foot.
All four remain under medical care.
Police confirmed the motive is believed to be gang-related. No arrests have yet been made, and investigations continue.

Last month, Kraaifontein was reeling amid several fatal gang-related shootings, which prompted the National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola to visit the Wallacedene area.
