Another traffic fine roadshow to hit the City this week

Published on

Motorists will have another opportunity to clear outstanding traffic fines and warrants when the City hosts its latest traffic fine roadshow at the Parow Civic Centre starting this week.

This will be the third roadshow for 2025 and will run from Friday, 12 September, until Thursday, 18 September 2025. The City says these traffic fine roadshows have grown in popularity over recent years.

Residents will be able to settle fines, address warrants, and make representations for reduced payments at a single, central location.

According to the City, the roadshow’s appeal lies in offering services that would normally require motorists to visit different municipal courts, depending on the magisterial district. At the roadshow, however, all matters can be handled in one place, with the added option of on-the-spot fine reductions.

“The roadshows circumvent what can be a fairly onerous process, particularly for motorists who have fines or warrants in different magisterial districts,” said Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.

Smith says there is also the option of on-the-spot fine reductions, which is the other reason why these events are so popular.

The event will be hosted at the Parow Civic Centre on the corner of Voortrekker and Talent Street. The schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, 12 September 2025: 08:30 – 14:30 (limited to City staff and members of the public with bulk applications of 20 or more)
  • Saturday, 13 September 2025: 08:00 – 13:30
  • Monday, 15 – Thursday, 18 September 2025: 08:30 – 14:30

The City says the management team has cautioned that start and end times may be adjusted depending on operational requirements.

To ensure fair access, only the first 280 people in the queue will be assisted each day. Those who do not make the cut will receive a return ticket for the following day, allowing them priority entry.

The first two, held in Parow in March and in Lentegeur in May, drew nearly 6,500 people and processed 70,650 representations worth an estimated R28,5 million.
