Multi-GRAMMY award-winning artist Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, following a day of online speculation from fans.
Hints of the release began on Monday morning when her marketing team posted 12 images on social media with the caption: “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’”.

Later, her partner and professional American football player, Travis Kelce, confirmed she would appear on his New Heights podcast, and Swift’s official website started a countdown to announce the album.
The announcement was made in a clip from Kelce’s podcast and accompanied by pre-orders on her website. According to information on the website, albums would ship to fans who ordered them before 13 October, but this was not confirmed as the release date. An official date has not yet been announced.

Swift’s previous album, The Tortured Poets Department, released in 2024, broke Spotify’s record for the most-streamed album in a day.
Earlier this year, she repurchased the rights to her first six albums, ending a long-running dispute over the ownership of her master recordings. Four of those albums have since been re-recorded and released as “Taylor’s Versions.”
