Public Prosecutor Gunned Down in Gqeberha

Eastern Cape police are appealing to the public for information following the fatal shooting of a female public prosecutor in Algoa Park, Gqeberha, on Thursday afternoon.

 

According to police, the woman had just arrived at her home in Lotton Street, Young Park, at around 15:30 when she was ambushed.

 

While still seated in her Toyota Etios, a white VW Polo pulled up. Four masked suspects exited the vehicle and opened fire, riddling her car with bullets.

 

She was rushed to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds but was declared dead on arrival. Her identity has not yet been officially released.

 

Police have not confirmed a motive, and no arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

 

SAPS is urging anyone with information that could assist in identifying or apprehending the suspects to contact Warrant Officer Errol Kleinhans on 083 243 4567, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or visit the nearest police station.
