Detectives attached to the Western Cape Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit are seeking the assistance of the public in providing information that will lead to the detention and conviction of an unidentified man who can assist in an investigation after an enquiry docket was opened.
A reward of up to R50,000 has been made available for the successful capture of the person in question.
According to police reports, the person depicted in the picture was armed when he gained entry to a school in Bellville on Friday, 20 June, at about 15:00.
Police say it is believed he entered the school with malicious intent.
He reportedly approached the aftercare teacher and enquired the whereabouts of a learner, who happens to be the child of a police member.
The learner however was already collected on the day in question.
The police’s Joseph Swartbooi says the person must be traced and brought in for questioning. He did not want to divulge any further information as he says the sharing of too many details might derail the investigation.
