There’s been another triple murder in Cape Town. Police officers over the weekend discovered the bodies of 3 men in the Covid informal settlement in Mfuleni. They had been shot and killed.

According to the Police, witnesses reported hearing gunshots, but due to adverse weather conditions, no immediate action was taken at the time. Members arrived at the scene Saturday morning at 10am. Colonel Andrè Traut says preliminary investigations suggest the victims were shot the previous night.

 

Murder probe underway

 

An investigation has been launched and detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit are following up on leads related to the triple murder. The victims are aged 21, 31, and 40 years. The men were discovered with gunshot wounds inside a shack in the Covid informal settlement.

Motive for the killings

 

At this stage, the motive for the killings, has not yet been established. The suspects remain at large. The Police have also called on the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation. Colonel Traut says information can be shared anonymously via Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the MySAPS mobile application.
