Eastern Cape police are on high alert after a teacher was abducted from a Nelson Mandela Bay school this morning. The suspects reportedly grabbed the 45-year-old woman and forced her into their white Toyota Corolla vehicle before fleeing.

The incident happened at the Happydale Special School, in Algoa Park. The woman — who is believed to be the wife of a well-known businessman — was snatched shortly after arriving at school in her grey Toyota Fortuner.

Eastern Cape police spokesperson Andre Beetge said a case of kidnapping is being investigated, and that no ransom has been demanded yet.

“The suspects using a white Toyota Corolla forcefully took her into their vehicle and fled the scene again. A case of kidnapping was opened by the police in Algoa Park, and is being investigated by Police Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit,” Beete confirmed.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
