Five people have been killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in Atlantis last night. Five others were also wounded.
Five people have been killed
Cape Town Police say the victims were returning from Silverstream Beach, in 3 vehicles, when they were shot at on the corner of Old Mamre and Silverstream Roads. The gunmen then fled the scene.
Gunmen on the loose
Officers say the five individuals who were fatally wounded were between the ages of 18 and 30 years.

The other 5 wounded were rushed to a medical facility for treatment, for gunshot wounds.
Motive under investigation
The motive for the incident is under investigation, as dockets for murder and attempted murder have been opened. Brigadier Novela Potelwa says the motive for the shooting incident will be determined during the investigation. She says no arrests have been effected yet.
