Jazz-lovers from the Mother City, the rest of the country as well as from overseas have descended on Cape Town for the hosting of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. Expect some disruptions this weekend if you are going to be driving in the city.
Cape Town International Jazz Festival
Cape Town is getting ready for another busy week and its roads will feel it. Officials at the Metro are advising residents about some disruptions as a result of these upcoming events. The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith says the return of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival is something the city has been waiting for, for a number of years.
He added, “The festival’s absence over the last 4 years has left a void in Cape Town’s annual events calendar and has been missed by thousands of jazz enthusiasts who make the pilgrimage to the Mother City.”
The City’s partnership with the CTIJF goes back many years.
