Two Oceans Marathon: Road closures and MyCiTi services impacted

Published on

It’s all systems go for the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon, and the City of Cape Town has geared up its services to provide support to the world’s most beautiful marathon.

14 000 runners is expected to take to the start line of the Ultra Marathon on Saturday, 13 April, while 18 000 athletes will be taking on the Half Marathon on Sunday, 14 April.

The 56km will follow a route worthy of the title ‘world’s most beautiful marathon’, taking runners from Newlands to scenic glory in Muizenberg, St. James, Kalk Bay, the famed Chapman’s Peak and Constantia, before finishing under the shadow of Table Mountain at UCT.

The 21,1km runners will also start in Newlands, traversing a route that will take them through Claremont, Kenilworth, Wynberg and Constantia before finishing off at UCT’s rugby field.

The City of Cape Town is providing logistical support in the form of safety and security personnel to the event.
