The Jobs Fair seeks to identify opportunities and solutions that can enhance the capacity of the Department and its partners to deliver on its mandate of creating employment for the unemployed people, especially the youth in the Western Cape province. The Jobs Fair is designed to create a platform where employers and job seekers can interact with the purpose of ensuring that the unemployed and underemployed can access both work and learning opportunities.

The Jobs Fair is scheduled to run from 14 to 15 March 2024. In this regard, on the 14 of March 2024, which will be the first day of the Jobs Fair, there will be an Employers’ Breakfast Session from 09h00 to 12h00 that will be taking place concurrently with the Jobs Fair. The event is targeted at about 4000 work-seekers (2000 per day) over the said two days to draw employers, institutions, government departments and municipalities that provide various services to the youth in particular.

Employment and Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi would deliver a Keynote Address to stakeholders at the Employers’ Breakfast Session. Afterwards, the Minister will address work-seekers and exhibitors at the Jobs Fair at Athlone Stadium.
