Martha Stewart has done it again! She is now Sports Illustrated’s oldest cover model ever, posing for the magazine’s swimsuit edition at the age of 81.

Martha rose to fame in the 1980s when she started writing cookbooks following her success as a chef. Fast forward to the present, Marth is now a best-selling author to nearly 99 books.

The TV personality and businesswoman is one of four women for this year’s issue, that aims to celebrate women who ‘live in a world where they feel no limitations’. The other models were model Brooks Nader, singer Kim Petras and actor Megan Fox.

The magazine will hit newsstands on May 18.

‘It should have been 30 years ago’, Martha Stewart

The famous cook called posing for the magazine – at her age – ‘historic’. She is seen wearing a variety of swimsuit looks in the magazine. She tells PEOPLE magazine that the swimsuit feature was meaningful to her. “it should have been 30 years ago,” she tells the magazine with a laugh.

Stewart can be seen posing in a red one-piece with a plunging neckline. A different photo shows her laying across the beach in a ruffled swimsuit with a big straw hat. While another features Stewart in a white bathing suit, smiling in an orange shawl.

Martha’s Sports Illustrated feature was photographed in the Dominican Republic by Ruven Afanador. Her cover shoot puts her as the oldest women to ever pose for the magazine’s swimsuit edition. She knocks Elon Musk’s mother, model Maye Musk, who posed in 2022 at the age of 74.

Sports Illustrated asked her what her friend Snoop Dogg would think of her cover, “Snoop is going to just think that it is fantastic”, she laughed.

Martha Stewart hosts three programs on Roku: Martha Cooks, Martha Holidays and Martha Gardens. She also moderates The Martha Stewart Podcast, where she conducts interviews with friends and business leaders. Sports Illustrated has called Martha Stewart the “OG of influencers”. She has reached over 100 million monthly fans with her TV shows, books and magazines.
