Police have confirmed that Julie Goodness, the Cape Town woman reported missing on Monday, was found this afternoon. Reports indicate that Goodness went missing after leaving her Gardens home in the City Bowl.

Media reports say she is a regular trail runner and is thought to have walked towards Table Mountain. Thus, investigations were launched in the mountain’s area. The police’s Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie confirmed to News24 that she was ‘safely reunited with friends‘.

Her partner, Richard Armstrong, told the media he is “happy and relieved” that she is back with family and friends:

We’re all so happy and relieved that our Julie has been found safe. We would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everybody involved in ensuring that she was found and brought to safety

He adds that the past few days had been a very difficult time for him. Julie Goodness was first reported missing on Monday.

Cape Town Central CPF Chairperson, Marc Truss confirmed to media, Julie’s safe return:

She is safe, not hurt and is doing well. She was found in the CBD area and has since been reunited with her loved ones

Naturally, the family is now appealing to the public and the media for some privacy following the incident.
