When the F1 season kicked off this year, I immediately noticed there was a new presenter on the grid. She was beautiful, insightful, confident… and she sounded South African! But why didn’t I know who she was? I was intrigued by her so I started following her on socials and this is what I found out about the fascinating Naomi Schiff.
1: She’s a professional racing driver.
She started her career in 2010 at the age of 16 where she took part in single-seater racing in the Southern African Formula Volkswagen.
In 2019, she competed in the W Series’ inaugural season, which is a free-to-enter championship that gives equal opportunities to women. Naomi went on to become a diversity and inclusion ambassador for the W Series the following year.

2. She’s currently an F1 Presenter and Analyst.
This year Naomi was appointed as an analyst for Sky Sports F1 and presents their ‘Any Driven Monday’ show which broadcasts live on YouTube every Monday after the previous day’s F1 race.

- She grew up in South Africa
According to her Wikipedia page, She was born in Belgium, to a Belgian father and Rwandan mother, grew up in South Africa, and now lives in the United Kingdom.
- When it comes to trolls, Lewis Hamilton has her back.
In June this year, a Twitter user questioned her Formula1 experience but he immediately felt the wrath of her supporters (including F1 drivers).
Lewis Hamilton jumped to Naomi’s defense, Tweeting the following:
- She’s absolute fashion goals!
Whether she’s on the F1 grid, poolside, working out or glamming it up, Naomi always looks incredible.
Naomi’s charisma and charm has won over audiences all over the world and I have no doubt she’ll inspire more young girls to take up space in this male-dominated sport.
