UWC renames iconic hall to Jakes Gerwal Main Hall

The University of the Western Cape has renamed its Main Hall in memory of its former Rector and anti-apartheid stalwart, Professor Jakes Gerwel. UWC spokesperson Gasant Abader says the renaming of the university’s most iconic building is fitting – given the late professor’s revolutionary leadership:
