Relief at the pump, or is it a facade

While motorists are paying a bit less for fuel from today, a debt counselling company says, the decrease won’t do much to cushion consumers from the rising cost of living. The economy has been battered by fuel price hikes over recent months, driven largely by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has spiked global oil prices, but a weakening rand also had an impact. The CEO of Debt Rescue, Neil Roets says the economic damage has been done.

Petrol is costing R1.32 per litre less, than today.
