Minister Aaron Motsoaledi says a probe of the Home Affairs unit, responsible for issuing visa and residency applications has been launched after investigations revealed a multitude of irregularities. The Minister says the unit, consisting of 14 employees, surprisingly asked the Committee who investigated corruption at Home Affairs, to NOT continue with its probes. Motsoaledi says in initial investigations, it was revealed that in some instances, foreign applicants, younger than 25, were approved for retirement and study visas in just one day.
