WATCH: Pravin Gordhan says Eskom workers have agreed to return to work on Wednesday

Published on

Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan has announced an agreement has been reached between unions and Eskom management with regards to a wage settlement.

Gordhan briefed the media on Tuesday afternoon, after the country was plunged into Stage 6 loadshedding, which Gordhan says is primarily because of the illegal industrial action.

He has condemned the violence and intimidation seen across the country at several power stations, which included the homes of managers being petrol bombed.

Gordhan says an agreement has also been reached that union leaders will request their members to return to work on Wednesday.

Recovery work will then start to stabilise the grid.
