The Presidency has confirmed there was a robbery at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm but rubbished some of the allegations made by former spy boss and prisons commissioner Arthur Fraser. Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says the robbery took place in February 2020, in which money from the proceeds of the sale of the game was stolen. At the time, Ramaphosa was attending an African Union summit in Addis Ababa.
Meanwhile: The president yesterday met with representatives of political parties to address their concerns on the security situation in the country and economic difficulties affecting citizens. The president told the parties about efforts to rebuild the integrity and capability of law enforcement agencies, the operationalisation of the Border Management Agency, and more effective implementation of immigration and labour laws. He also cautioned against perceptions that link migration to criminality.
