The provincial police commissioner, Thembisile Patekile says rooting out organised crime in places like Khayelitsha remains a challenge, as criminals are constantly moving their operations around, to evade police. Patekile says 20 police vehicles and dozens of officers were deployed in the township on Sunday night as part of ongoing hot-spot monitoring, but it was not enough to prevent yet another mass shooting. 6 people were shot dead in Site C, and police are not ruling out, that it could be gang-related
