President Ramaphosa lauds “gigantic leap” for SA in Hydrogen energy production

Published on

President Cyril Ramaphosa says the country has reached a milestone in its goal to become a global hub of green hydrogen energy production.

Ramaphosa was the guest of honour at the launch of South Africa’s first hydrogen truck, the NuGen, today.

The launch was hosted at the Anglo American Platinum Mine in Mogalakwena in Limpopo, where the truck and a new hydrogen plant was introduced.

The plant will allow the mine to produce their own fuel for the hybrid truck.

Ramaphosa says this is the beginning of an eco-system to support a hydrogen economy.
