A woman from Paarl, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy has made it her mission to walk 100 kilometres. She will do this in a campaign aimed at gifting wheelchairs to the underprivileged.
A keynote speaker from Paarl, Brittany McCormick was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy Quadriplegia at birth and told she would never be able to walk. She has defied the odds and can now walk short distances on her treadmill at home, with little assistance. She started to walk during the lockdown, after receiving physiotherapy.
Brittany has come up with an idea to give at least 6 individuals their own wheelchair. She will 100km on her treadmill over the next 6 months.
