The SA Civil Aviation Authority has suspended Comair’s operator certificate indefinitely, pending the operator addressing the outstanding safety issues.
It says after reviewing evidence from Comair, it found immediate risks to safety and security.
The Authority initially suspended kulula.com and British Airways flights on Saturday, but Comair hoped to resume flying by Sunday noon.
Kulula management says they are working hard to take to the skies again.
Despite working through the night, Comair will not be able to resume operations today. The SACAA still needs to review documentation provided overnight. We continue to engage constructively with the SACAA.

Affected passengers have been urged not to travel to the airport unless they have been able to make alternative arrangements.
For customers on British Airways (operated by Comair) flights, British Airways’ booking with confidence policy will apply. Details can be found here: http://britishairways.com/travel/book-with-confidence/public/en_gb
