The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services says it’s concerned about the Agtervink-river, in Robertson. The blaze started late on Saturday evening as a result of a lightning strike. Teams have managed to contain the line running into the Koo Valley. The areas will continue to be monitored as flare-ups are likely in the high temperatures expected today. In the mountains at Touwsriver, a second fire has been reported. It was also caused by lightning late last night. Meanwhile: After a two-day battle, teams have been able to fully contain the fire at Pearl Valley, in Paarl. Fire services will continue to monitor the area throughout the day.
