Health Minister Dr Joe Phaahla has warned that hospitalisations due to Covid-19 infection are picking up, with the department seeing an increase in the number of babies, toddlers and pregnant women in hospital on oxygen.

Phaahla says while most cases in Gauteng were not severe, hospitalisations are increasing. The department is also aware of one death of a 15-year old boy whose condition rapidly deteriorated after admission.
