Naledi Local Municipality Mayor Neo Schalk has been killed in a car crash that also left the driver of the other vehicle dead.

Schalk is the third mayor to be involved in a car crash in recent weeks. Johannesburg Mayor Jolidee Matongo was killed in a crash in September and Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor Nqaba Bhanga was also involved in a car crash in August, which left 2 people dead.
