The Minister of Health, Joe Phaahla says 17 million more South Africans need to be vaccinated to reach the country’s 70% herd immunity target by December.

Phaahla says at least 11-million South Africans, or 28% of the country’s adult population, have already received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

Phaahla says the country has enough vaccine doses to inoculate 300-thousand people per day, which will see the country reaching its herd-immunity target.
