A total of 5 931 new covid-19 cases have been reported in the country, over the latest 24-hour period.

Another 76 people have died with the death toll, over 83 400. The recovery rate stands at 92%. Vaccinations have exceeded 13.45-million.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr Joe Phaahla says they’re aware of calls from different provinces for Government to start easing lockdown restrictions. He cautions that any such decision might be too soon, even though, there have been declines in third-wave infection rates.
At the same time, President Cyril Ramaphosa says companies will have to follow certain steps, as set out in the Labour Law if they want to make Covid-19 vaccinations compulsory for employees. He says the Department of Labour has published directives for companies grappling with the issue.
