7 632 new covid-19 cases have been reported in the country, over the latest 24-hour monitoring period.

A further 163 people have died of related illnesses, with total fatalities standing on 79 584. Since Sunday, more than 263 000 vaccinations have been administered and in the country, up to now, more than 10.7-million.

Meanwhile, the executive director of the District Six Museum, Siddeeq Railoun, has died at Groote Schuur Hospital, due to Covid-19 complications. Railoun was appointed to this position just 3 months ago.
