Western Cape hospitals under severe pressure

Premier Alan Winde warns that the province’s healthcare system is now under severe pressure.

He today urged all residents to do their part to ease the pressure on hospitals and clinics.

He says there are currently 3,654 people admitted to hospitals for Covid-19 related complications.

Hospitals here currently admit 339 Covid-19 patients per day.

Hospitals in the Metro are now at 97% capacity.
