South Africa has recorded 7 773 new cases of covid-19.

According to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, the majority of new cases are from Gauteng, which contributed 30%, followed by the Western Cape at 20% of new infections. A further 370 deaths have been confirmed, taking the total of fatalities to 70 388. The NICD says, in the past 24 hours, there has been an increase of 650 hospital admissions. The recovery rate has improved to 91.2%. To date, more than 6.8-million vaccines, have been administered.
