South Africa has recorded 18 762 new confirmed cases of covid-19.

At the same time, another 215 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported. The National Institute for Communicable Diseases says the Gauteng province has recorded the most cases in the past 24 hours, at more than 11 000 cases, followed by the Western Cape with almost 1 800 new infections. The death toll is now at 59 621. The NICD says there has been an increase of 606 hospital admissions over the latest monitoring period.
