Liquor traders have called on government not to re-institute restrictions on alcohol sales, as this only stands to benefit the illicit trade.

As the rate of Covid-19 infections continues to climb, there has been speculation that the cabinet may consider another round of restrictions on alcohol sales. The convenor of the National Liquor Traders Council, Lucky Ntimane says there has already been a total of 20 weeks of alcohol bans and many of their members have been forced to close their doors.
