The Electrical Commission of South Africa says South Africans will only have one weekend this year, to register for the upcoming local government elections.
The IEC yesterday announced that registration for this year’s elections is set to take place on 17 and 18 July.
Chief electoral officer, Sy Mamabolo says, due to the commission’s finances, there would only be one voter registration weekend.
He says the registrations would take place under strict Covid-19 protocols.
