The Independent Electoral Commission says this year’s local-government elections will be one of the most challenging in the country’s history due to the Covid 19 pandemic. IEC chief electoral officer, Sy Mamabolo says the pandemic circumstances create unique problems for everyone. President Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday announced that this year’s local elections will be held on 27 October.
