Forensic fire investigators will now examine CCTV footage, in an effort to determine how exactly the devastating fire started on Sunday. The fire manager for Table Mountain National Park, Phillip Prins says from initial investigations, he believes, it was sparked by an abandoned vagrant fire. The blaze was reported on Phillip Kgosana drive on Sunday morning, but quickly spread out of control, destroying the Rhodes Memorial restaurant and several UCT buildings. The fire was successfully contained yesterday afternoon, at about 1.30pm.
