More people arrested, over the past week, despite partial ban on booze-sales

The City’s Directorate of Safety and Security says it is concerned with the increase in the number of crime-related arrests, here in the Metro, despite the partial ban on alcohol over the Easter long-weekend.

Mayco member, JP Smith says officials arrested nearly 300 people over the last week, nearly double the number of arrests made a week ago.

Smith says people were arrested for a range of offences including for drunk-, reckless and negligent driving and the possession of illegal drugs.
