The Competition Commission has confirmed that Vodacom has now reduced the price of its 1 Gb data bundle, following an agreement between the two parties. Vodacom has reduced the price of its 30-day data bundle to R85 (down from the R149 the bundle cost in December 2019). A market investigation by the Commission found that data-prices, in South Africa, are excessively high. The Commission says that the first round of price-reductions, by Vodacom and MTN, has led to a saving of more than R 3-billion for consumers.
