Winde: Western Cape poised to beat load-shedding

Published on

The Western Cape is perfectly poised to be the first province in the country to beat load-shedding.

This, according to Premier, Alan Winde, who says there is sufficient electricity infrastructure – especially in the renewable energy sector – to provide for the province’s electricity needs.

He says the provincial Government has committed further funds to help local Municipalities increase their embedded-generation capacity.

He says the decision follow’s Government’s recent announcement that Independent Power Producers will now be allowed to generate more electricity.
