Health Minister Zweli Mkhize has encouraged all health care workers to register on the Department’s Electronic Vaccine Data System self-registration portal.
The EVDS system was officially launched this morning, although it was already online and operational yesterday. In phase of the Covid-19 vaccine roll-out, all health care workers, whether they see patients daily or not, will be inoculated.
The EVDS system will track and schedule where and when people get their vaccine shot.
Mkhize says he is pleased the system is up and running now. He has reiterated that everyone will get the vaccine for free at the point of service, regardless of whether they have medical aid.
