The plane carrying the Covid-19 vaccine touched down at OR Tambo International Airport this afternoon. This is the first step in the country’s largest vaccine rollout programme which will be a historic one, where more than one-point two million healthcare workers will be inoculated during the first phase. The vaccine was developed by Swedish-British company AstraZeneca last year and produced in India by the Serum Institute.
