The Department of Correctional Services says 93 new covid-19 cases were reported in South African prisons yesterday. According to the department there are 9,985 cumulative covid-19 cases in prisons, with 6,451 prison officials and 3,534 inmates testing positive for the virus. To date, 184 covid-19 related fatalities were reported in the country’s prisons.
